Dear Daddy
Dear Daddy,
We love you because...
You buy us sweets,
You are funny and fun,
You smile and make us smile too,
You are smart,
You are kind and do lots of nice things,
You are not scared of anything,
You can cook,
You can drive a car,
You look after us and you help us,
You are special,
Love

Book Review - The Monster Book of Colours, The Monster Book of Numbers and Where's The Scone?
The Pickle has received a set of pre-school learning books from My Little Big Town publishers. The Monster Book of Colours and The Monster Book of Numbers, written and illustrated by Calvin Innes, are bright and entertaining books to help make learning fun.
There are countless counting books on The Pickle's bookshelf, but counting funny monsters is much more appealing than counting pencils or balloons! The book of colours includes shades such as maroon and navy, which you don't often see in pre-school learning books.
We also received Where's The Scone? by Beth Dexter-Smith and illustrated by Calvin Innes. This is another counting book, but this time with a story about lots of animal friends having a party and the types of food they bring.
The name of each animal rhymes with the type of food they bring to the party, such as Llamas munching bananas and mice nibbling rice! There are a few more unusual animals in the book, such as bream and gnu, which makes a nice change from cats, dogs and bunny rabbits!
Overall, I think these books are very colourful and amusing and my little monster certainly loves them!
